“Those that don't got it,
can't show it.

Those that got it,
can't hide it.”

What Zora Neal Houston means is that if you are ugly or bad at sports you can't show the good that the people want to see. People see what they want and you can't change that about them. And what she means by "those who got it can't hide it" means that if toys are beautiful and good at sports you can't hide the fact that you are so good or so beautiful you can't just become ugly the next day or bad at that sprot the next day if you have it show it and be proud of it.

Answers ;

1.   Apartheid was a system of racial segregation enforced by the national party governments who where the ruling part from 1948 to 1994 of South Africa.

2.    It is a west Germanic language mainly spoken in South Africa. It is a daughter language of Dutch it originated in the 17th century.

3.   There was racial strife in South Africa because for so long it has been segregation out there blacks had very little rights just like in the U.S. in the 1950's and 60's. Also because the government failed to do anything about the problems. They did nothing for the thousands of complaints that the people made .

7.    His family moved away and didn't talk to him at all. They felt as if they were being traded against and they thought that he was selfish for doing  what he did. He knew the concupiscence's for it and so did they that's why they didn't want him to be apart of it but he did not listen to them and went on with it any way.

Race and Racism

Race and Racism
Many people deal with racism everyday. They deal with self racism also. Most young black females deal with it the most. They think they need to have long straight hair like a white girl or they do not like the color of their skin because they feel as if they are to black. Racism does not deal with just females wanting to look like a white women(barbie doll). Racism is all around the world its something that will never go away it will here for ever.

Women encounter racism the worst. They feel as if they need to portray them selves as they perfect women and in their eyes that perfect women is a white women who is tall, skinny, long beautiful hair, and beautiful skin color. Most white men and women think that all black women have nappy hair, big butts, big boobs, weave, and also have big lips. To these type of racist white people that is the average black women for them. For example if a white person were to come to Plainfield High School and see how the kids act here they would think that all the black boys walk around with their pants down to their knees.

thinking differently

People generally act shocked or scared even upset. They act this way because they are scared to step out side the box and do for them selves. The people who act differently then others are the real people who are not scared to be them they do not want to be like everyone else, they want to stand out and be who they are and not who people want them to be.In the movie ''Glory Road''  the coach Don Haskins was one of those people who wanted to step outside the box and he did.He wanted to have the most black people  on his team and he did seven blacks was the most ever on a basketball team.He also was the first to have an all black starting five in a National Championship game.He went way outside of the box people hated him they called him a Nigger lover, trashed his room and players rooms and they also beat his players up when they got the chance to.In the film Don Haskins told one of his black recruits ''I don't see color,I see quick and skill.''He knew what he was getting his self into and he did not care one bit all he wanted to do was play basketball and win doing it.This reminds me of a movie called '' Remember the Titans '' In this film there was a whit coach for the football team for years and years but one day the school decided hire a black coach. When one parent found out about this he took his son off the football team because he didn't want him to be coached by a black football coach.

It was so important for Don Haskins to think different because he knew that the talent he had before he recruited the black kids were not going to cut it.He knew that he need some type of athleticism to help the team strive for a National Championship. It was also important for him to think different because without him doing so he would have never made history and be one of the greats his basketball team would have never won the Championship without the black people he added to his team.In the film Don Haskins says '' Im starting five black players Two subs '' For the first time in college basketball history he will have an all black starting five in the National Championship and win the game. This reminds me of a movie when they had a first black football coach ever and they went all the way to States and won for the first time in the teams history.

VALENTINES DAY

My opinion is that before you go out with that peerson make sure that you can see your self with that person long term. Most people find a  person they would like to be with just for a qucick second they dont really want to be in the relationship to get to know you they do it to get something else out of you.Others break-up before a holiday so that they wont have to buy them anything because they dont waqnt to waist their money or they realy do not care for that indivisual.Valentines day is a special day,its aday to be with someone you love and care about deeply. Its to be with someone that means the world to you.

WHO IS ST.VALENTINE & WHY WE CELEBRATE VALENTINES DAY

Saint Valentine was beheaded on February 14 in the year 270 AD for marrying couples in defiance of a decree that the Emperor Claudius made that specifically said not to marry couples until further notice. A little over 200 years later, Pope Gelasius declared February 14th a holiday in honor of Saint Valentine. We celebrate valentines day to show the love that we haave for that person.Valentines day is a very special day for couples.Be cause it symbolizes the love that they have for one another.

MLK

If Dr.King was to walk in my class today he would be proud and then again he will not be proud. He would be proud at the fact  that blacks, whites, and Hispanics are all in one class together without people saying racist remarks towards others.Dr.King said in a speech I've been to the mountain top '' we have some difficult days ahead ''. What this means to me is that he knows that things are going to get worse before they get better. He knows that there is much more work needed to be done. Today's generation doesn't really understand what he and others had to go through for blacks, Hispanics, and women to have equal rights and blacks to be in the same school and restaurants and bathrooms as whites.

The reason Dr.King would be so proud is that we have a black president, blacks are in the same schools as whites getting the same education, women have equal rights like everyone else they can get any type of jobs. There are female officers, women in the marines, the army, some are women have higher positions then most men. Everything he ever wanted back then has came true not just because of Dr.King but many others as well.He would not be proud because there are black kids out here making these dumb decisions when he fought and died for use to get a better education and to give us an equal chance to do better but they don't want to take advantage of the fact that someone put their life on the line for them and their future.

He would mostly be upset honestly because even the kids that do come to school everyday they come to school and just clown around and be very nonchalant about being here. They don't take advantage of someone giving them a good education. They don't understand how hard and how long Dr.king and others have fought to get us here in these schools  and these jobs. These opportunity period,he would have a fit if he was to walk into one of these class rooms let alone walk down the street. He would come to the school and see kids walking down the hall way with their pants down to their knees and hear someone saying the ''N'' word every ten seconds.
